Dracula; A Ballet
Unrealized Costume Design
Fall 2015
Concept:
For my Costume Design II class, we were tasked with designing for a ballet. Our costume designs needed to allow the performers to be able to have a wide range of motion. For my design, I decided to design for the ballet interpretation of Bram Stoker's classic tale Dracula. I drew my artistic inspiration from celtic art, which is old, beautiful, and otherworldly; much like Count Dracula himself. The swirling patterns also remind me of dancing. My style choice was made up of a variety of time periods, which is like the story of Dracula, which has remained popular though the ages.
