Gender Reversal Project, Spring 2012

Punk-Bat Foam Latex

Concept:

For my Makeup 2 class, I was assigned to create some sort of fantasy creature, sculpt it, create foam latex appliances, and apply the design.  I wanted to change the normal structures of the face and create some sort of human-animal creature.  I was inspired by the many different kinds of bats and all of the different facial structures that they have.  In my research, I also discovered a species of bat that has a mohawk, so I added that aspect into my design to give my character more of a personality.

Gender Reversal

Concept:

One of the assignments that was given in my Makeup 1 class was to turn a peer that we were partnered with into the opposite gender.  This assignment was the first time that I executed a design using crepe wool.  I would later use the stills that I larned in this assignment to execute designs for UW-Parkside's productions of Arabian Nights and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot.
