The Skylight Music Theatre's production of Sweeney Todd included several pieces of signage. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my position at the Skylight being shared between the paint and prop shop, I was working in the prop shop when the actual show signage was being painted. Much of the process for the scenic elements required many steps, and thus, dry time. During all of the dry time between other projects, the scenic charge allowed me to recreate one of the signs from the show as an exercise in lettering, detail work, and a chance to use refillable paint markers. The paint markers can be used with special paint, or with regular paint thinned with water. I really enjoy detail work, so I found this project very satisfying.
