Violet was the first show of the Skylight's 2016-17 season.  My major props project for this show was to create a bloody quilt.  I was given a full sized, very worn out quilt.  First, I cut the quilt in half and found a similar patterned fabric to create a new border.  Before attaching the new border to the quilt, I had to distress my fabric by fading the color .  I did this by soaking the fabric in water and various paints, then crumpling and flattening out the strips.  To create the blood stain, I used several shades of paint, water, and glossy medium.
